Just when you thought you saw it all, here's a story
that any body that is interested in Jaguars and
Hotrods can appreciate.
Yankee ingenuity strikes again with a creative insertion
of a XK dual overhead cam engine into an American
Hotrod. These pictures were published in the
June 2000 issue of Street Rodder magazine.
This car was built by Carlos Lara of Alberta, Canada
(not quite a brit, but in the same family) and is
based on a '29 Ford Model A steel reproduction shell
from Brookville (OH) Roadsters with a Brizio chassis.
Pick up the magazine for the details of all the other
component parts.
The stunning aspect of this car is its highly detailed
4.2L DOHC engine out of a (presumably totalled) 1968
E-Type. Note the exquisite detailing--there is a lot to
be learned from our hotrod friends. Although not 'pure
Jaguar', the touches are fantastic, like the chromed Weber
Carbs and the asymetrical straight 'headers'. It has to be
a fantastic sound. Feast and Enjoy, and thank you Carlos and
Street Rodder magazine for honoring the Jaguar community!
