Sir William Speaks About the C-Type Jaguar at Le Mans

Sir William Lyons made the following comments about the C-Type Jaguar that competed at Le Mans in 1951. Only 54 of the cars were built, and they are the most loved of all Jaguars among enthusiasts. Even replicas fetch a high amount, until this day.

"We decided that we could make a car to win. And so we came back and this was designed, with Mr. Heynes as the primary designer, as a uni-construction monocoque type construction job. And we took it to Le Mans, in 1951, to successfully win".
